Pearl Abyss is gearing up for the launch of its new open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert. Set to arrive on March 19th, it’s getting the gaming community excited. Recently, the developer unveiled important details about the game’s performance across various consoles.
On March 10th, just nine days before launch, players got a closer look at what to expect on the PS5 and Xbox. Here’s a breakdown of the performance options:
- Performance mode: Targets 1080p at 60 FPS with VSync. It can boost beyond that on VRR displays, but ray tracing is set to low.
- Balanced mode: Upscales to 4K from a native resolution of 1280p, running at 40 FPS with VSync. Ray tracing remains unchanged.
- Quality mode: Upscales to 4K from 1440p, limited to 30 FPS but enhances ray tracing to a high setting, offering a visually rich experience.
For the PS5 Pro, performance improves further:
- Performance mode: Upscales from 1080p to 4K, offering an uncapped option, with ray tracing at high.
- Balanced mode: Upscales to 4K from 1440p, potentially reaching over 48 FPS with VSync and maintaining high ray tracing.
- Quality mode: Delivers native 4K at 30 FPS with ultra ray tracing for stunning visuals.
However, the less powerful Xbox Series S faces challenges:
- Performance mode: Limited to 720p at around 40 FPS with no ray tracing options.
- Quality mode: Can manage 1080p at 30 FPS but lacks any ray tracing capabilities.
Pearl Abyss has also shared specs for ROG Xbox Ally and Mac systems. Early indicators suggest that the ROG Xbox Ally X could manage the game decently, although specific settings are still to be detailed. Meanwhile, support for the Steam Deck hasn’t been confirmed yet, which leaves some players wondering about their gaming experience there.
What’s creating buzz around Crimson Desert? Social media is alive with anticipation. Players are excited, and wishlists are growing. In fact, recent data shows that enthusiasm for single-player games is on the rise, with many gamers looking for immersive worlds to explore. Just recently, a survey indicated that 75% of players prefer rich narratives in games, making Crimson Desert’s storytelling a key point of interest.
Pearl Abyss is stepping into the spotlight with this title, aiming to make a significant mark in the gaming world. With robust social media reactions and encouraging wishlist numbers, it seems set to attract a lot of attention upon release.
