Anthony Davis will sit out for at least a week, leaving the Los Angeles Lakers needing to adjust significantly. They kick off this challenging period on Thursday against the Washington Wizards. Following that, they face the New York Knicks on Saturday and the Los Angeles Clippers on February 4.
Adding to their struggles, the team will also be without guard Gabe Vincent and forward Dorian Finney-Smith for the game against the Wizards. Vincent is out with a knee injury, while Finney-Smith is dealing with a shoulder issue. This makes things tougher for the Lakers as they prepare to defend against rising star Jordan Poole, who boasts impressive averages of 20.7 points and 4.9 assists per game, along with a solid 39.5% shooting from beyond the arc.
The Lakers will have to work together to fill the gaps in their defense. It’s going to take a team effort to keep Poole and the Wizards from lighting up the scoreboard.
