R&B singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested in connection with the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her severely decomposed body was found in Burke’s Tesla in Hollywood, leading to his detention without bail.
In September, police were called to a tow yard after complaints about a foul smell coming from a car that belonged to Burke. This vehicle had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. Inside, authorities discovered Celeste’s dismembered body. She had been reported missing in early 2024 and was last seen in Lake Elsinore, roughly 60 miles from Los Angeles. The medical examiner noted that she had died an extended time before her remains were found.
Burke is scheduled to have his case presented to the district attorney’s office soon, where prosecutors will decide if there is enough evidence to file charges. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the arrest and is treating the case with serious attention.
Burke’s situation escalated as he was already under investigation by a grand jury regarding Celeste’s death. Despite the gravity of the situation, a spokesperson claimed he was cooperating with authorities. Detectives executed a search warrant at a Hollywood Hills home where Burke had been living and seized several items, including a computer.
His legal team insists he is innocent, stating that no charges have been formally filed and that Burke is only being held on suspicion. They claim that the evidence will clear him of wrongdoing.
Burke gained fame on TikTok with hits like “Romantic Homicide” and has collaborated with big names like SZA and Kali Uchis. However, this incident has overshadowed his musical success. Fans and observers are delving into social media for clues about his connection to Celeste. Notably, Celeste’s brother shared that she mentioned going to see a movie with Burke just before her disappearance.
As the investigation unfolds, questions about their relationship remain unanswered. The case has sparked significant interest online, with many looking for links that might explain what happened. With the blend of celebrity culture and a tragic crime, it highlights the often dark intersections of fame and real-life issues.
