Keaton Vo led the North Carolina Tar Heels with a solid 2-under 70 in the final round of The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. His performance helped the team move up to fourth place overall.
David Ford, who had been doing well in the tournament, finished in second place at 7 under par. His final round score was 75, which dropped him behind Texas’ Luke Potter. Potter finished with rounds of 71, 66, and 69, giving him the individual title at 10 under 206. Texas also took home the team championship after posting a total score of 18 under 846.
North Carolina’s final score was 1 under par, finishing just behind Alabama in third and leading Virginia, which placed fifth. Ford’s impressive performance marks his 14th top-five finish in his college career, adding to his reputation as a strong competitor. He has also enjoyed four tournament wins.
Vo’s performance was remarkable, as he recorded six birdies in his final round, ending with a total score of 2-under 214, which marked his best finish with the team.
Other Tar Heel players included Maxwell Ford, who tied for 33rd at 3 over 219, Hampton Roberts in 37th at 4 over 220, Ethan Paschal in 43rd at 5 over 221, and Sihan Sandhu who tied for 68th at 13 over 229.
