Danish Chicna Arrested: Gangster Dawood Ibrahim affiliate Danish Merchant alias Danish Chikna was arrested in a medication case on Friday (December 13, 2024). Danish Merchant manages Dawood’s drug operations in Dongri space. Danish was arrested alongside together with his affiliate Kader Ghulam Shaikh.
According to Mumbai Police sources, NDTV has instructed that Danish Merchant was a wished accused in the drug case. His arrest follows a months-long investigation, which started with the arrest of Mohammad Ashikur Sahidur Rehman and Rehan Shakeel Ansari final month.
The collection of arrests began from November 8, when Mohammad Ashikur Sahidur Rahman was caught with 144 grams of medication close to Marine Lines Station. During interrogation, Rehman instructed that the medication had been bought from Ansari in Dongri. Based on this data, the police arrested Ansari and seized a further 55 grams of the drug. Ansari additionally instructed that the medication had been provided by Danish Merchant and his affiliate Kadir Fanta.
Danish service provider and Kadir Fanta arrested
The police had been looking for Merchant and Fanta for the previous couple of weeks. Following a tip-off, police tracked down the two suspects in Dongri space on 13 December. He was arrested as half of a deliberate operation. During interrogation, each of them confessed to their involvement in the drug racket.
Drug manufacturing unit busted in 2019
In 2019, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted Dawood’s drug manufacturing unit in Dongri and seized narcotics price crores of rupees. At that point, Merchant was arrested in Rajasthan and had lately been launched from jail.
