Day 1 Box Office: Sivakarthikeyan’s 'Madharasi' Roars with Rs 13 Crore, Outshining Tiger Shroff’s 'Baaghi 4'!

AR Murugadoss’ new film, Madharasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Rukmini Vasanth, made an impressive debut on September 5, 2025. Despite a crowded release schedule, it opened strongly at the box office.

The story revolves around a cop chasing illegal weapons smuggled into Tamil Nadu. The protagonist struggles with personal demons while tackling a dangerous gang.

Critical reactions have varied. The Times of India gave Madharasi three stars. They praised Sivakarthikeyan’s performance, noting the film’s blend of action and commercial storytelling. While it may not break new ground, the film’s engaging storytelling resonates with audiences.

As the weekend unfolds, the film’s success will largely depend on word-of-mouth. Positive reviews and audience reactions could help Madharasi become one of Sivakarthikeyan’s biggest hits.
