NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware edged out the Bryant baseball team with a score of 4-2 in a tough match on Sunday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
This loss brings Bryant’s record to 3-5-1 and they have now lost four out of five games that extended into the eighth inning or later. The Bulldogs are set to return to Conaty Park on Tuesday against Merrimack.
Bryant started strong, leading 2-0 after five innings and 2-1 going into the eighth. However, in a dramatic turn, Delaware capitalized in the bottom of the eighth. A bloop hit fell between three Bryant players, turning into a double. This was followed by a game-tying double and a meaningful two-run single that gave Delaware the lead.
