Delicious Discourse: Venice Boardwalk Chefs Unite to Celebrate Immigrants Through Food

Community Fundraiser for Immigrant Rights at Turk’s Pizza Party

Turk’s Pizza Party is hosting a unique fundraiser this Sunday, June 22, in Venice. The goal? To support immigrant rights and stand against recent federal immigration raids.

This event will feature several local favorites, like Little Dynamite Pizza and Estrano, along with Tehachapi Grain Project, Kabob Senpai, and Sunday Gravy. Expect an evening filled with delicious food, music, and a spirit of togetherness along the Venice Beach Boardwalk. The money raised will go directly to mutual aid networks and nonprofits, such as CHIRLA and Let’s Gather for Good, which help immigrant communities.

Taking place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 1921 Ocean Front Walk, the event is described as a celebration of unity through food and culture. Organizers stress the importance of community support in light of recent ICE raids in the area.

Guests can enjoy a variety of foods, including pizza, suya, kabobs, and a unique “ranch shots” offering. There will also be surprise guest chefs and performers, adding excitement to the evening.

Funds raised will assist with legal aid, housing support, and emergency services for families affected by immigration enforcement. Admission is free, and attendees can buy food on a donation basis. Organizers welcome everyone to come together in support of immigrant justice.

According to a recent report by the Pew Research Center, nearly 40 million immigrants reside in the United States, contributing significantly to the economy. Events like this not only raise funds but also increase awareness about the struggles immigrant communities face. In a time when immigrant rights are often under threat, showing up for one another can make a real difference.
