Delicious News: Hawkers Asian Street Food Set to Open at Franklin’s McEwen Northside!

McEwen Northside is about to get a new restaurant! Hawkers Asian Street Food will soon join the neighborhood, located on the ground floor of a brand-new building next to Culinary Dropout. This building is part of a big $125 million project that adds 300,000 square feet to the area.

Hawkers takes inspiration from the vibrant open-air markets in Asia. They offer exciting flavors and shareable small dishes, featuring fan favorites like Korean twice-fried wings, five-spice green beans, and roti canai with a rich curry dip. This popular restaurant opened its first Tennessee location in East Nashville back in 2020 and quickly became known for its craft cocktails and sake, all while serving a diverse pan-Asian menu. The new location is set to open in early 2026, making it their second spot in the area.

Mark Traylor expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing development: “We’re incredibly excited about the momentum surrounding the newest block in the district. We’ve already welcomed office tenants to the upper floors, with more on the way; and soon, the ground level will be home to these beloved restaurants, further establishing McEwen Northside as a place where memories are made, especially over a great meal.”

In recent months, McEwen Northside has welcomed several popular brands including Vuori, Gorjana, Oak Hall, Warby Parker, Fink’s Jewelers/Rolex, Skin Laundry, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill. This growth showcases a trend where urban areas are becoming vibrant hubs for dining and shopping.

Interestingly, the rise of Asian cuisine in America is backed by numbers. A 2021 survey found that 33% of Americans claimed to be more adventurous with their food choices than in previous years. People are now more open to exploring diverse flavors, especially Asian dishes, which have seen a significant surge in popularity.

As consumers continue to seek unique dining experiences, spots like Hawkers are not just restaurants; they are part of a growing movement to connect people through food and culture.
