Delta Air Lines is on a mission to improve in-flight connectivity and entertainment for passengers. Free, high-speed Wi-Fi is now available on most of its planes, and exciting new features are coming in 2025.
With over 200 million travelers each year, Delta is expanding its Delta Sync Wi-Fi both domestically and internationally. This service offers streaming-quality internet access, making it easier for customers to stay connected while flying.
Currently, more than 880 aircraft offer this fast, free Wi-Fi. By this summer, the airline plans to enhance connectivity on its busiest international routes. Even regional planes will get upgraded internet technology soon.
Delta is also enhancing the in-flight experience with entertainment options. Over 330 aircraft are equipped with Delta Sync seatback entertainment, delivering personalized content to passengers.
Delta boasts more than 165,000 seatback screens across its fleet, providing real-time trip updates and customized recommendations to make the journey more enjoyable.
To improve the digital entertainment experience, Delta is teaming up with leading brands:
- YouTube Partnership: SkyMiles members will have ad-free access to popular YouTube creators, podcasts, and music through Delta Sync Wi-Fi and seatback entertainment.
- DraftKings Collaboration: Delta is also working with DraftKings to offer a unique onboard gaming experience for SkyMiles members, without any real-money betting involved.
Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity, shared the airline’s dedication to innovation. She said, “We want our passengers to have an in-flight experience that reflects their digital lives.”
Since launching Delta Sync Wi-Fi, over 3.5 million new SkyMiles members have signed up. Younger generations, like Millennials and Gen Z, now represent 60% of Wi-Fi users, showing Delta’s commitment to evolving its entertainment options to meet the needs of tech-savvy travelers.
As Delta continues to invest in advanced connectivity and personalized experiences, it aims to make the SkyMiles Membership more valuable for travelers, both during their flight and beyond.
