The University of Denver men’s tennis team wraps up its fall season at the LMU Invite, hosted by Loyola Marymount, from November 7-9.
Six players will represent Denver: graduate student Connor Robb-Wilcox, senior Ryoma Mishiro, sophomores Theo Coats and Samuel Rovai, and freshmen Aaron Beduhn and Tom Noltorp. The pairings for doubles matches are still to be announced.
Here’s a quick rundown of the tournament schedule:
Friday, November 7:
- 12 p.m. PT/1 p.m. MT – Doubles match against UC Irvine
- Next up – Singles match against LMU
Saturday, November 8:
- 12 p.m. PT/1 p.m. MT – Doubles against Utah
- Followed by – Singles against UC Irvine
Sunday, November 9:
- 9 a.m. PT/10 a.m. MT – Singles against Utah
- 12 p.m. PT/1 p.m. MT – Doubles vs. LMU
Each doubles match will be a single set with a tiebreak at 6-6, while singles matches follow a best-of-three set format. Keep in mind that doubles pairings may differ from day to day.
Interestingly, tennis attendance across college sports has been on the rise. According to a recent NCAA report, tennis has seen a 5% increase in fan engagement over the last five years. This uptick highlights a growing interest in collegiate tennis, reflecting broader social media trends where fans share their support online.
The Denver team will return in January to kick off the spring dual season, with a detailed schedule to be released soon. With committed players and a keen fan base, the Pioneers are poised for an exciting season ahead.
