DePaul’s Record-Breaking Relay Team Shines at NCAA West Rounds
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – DePaul’s men’s 4x400m relay team put on an impressive show at the NCAA West First Rounds. They broke the school record and moved up in the regional rankings, finishing 17th overall.
The team, made up of sophomore Tyce Smith, freshmen Denhm Holt and Christian Ortiz-Velazquez, and junior Daniel Fasasi, clocked a stunning 3:06.53. They entered the event as the last qualifying team in the West Region, but their performance exceeded expectations. This run followed their recent BIG EAST title and previous record in Storrs, showing their growth and consistency.
Fasasi’s powerful final lap, with a split time of 45.80 seconds, was particularly noteworthy. His speed helped seal the school record at John McDonnell Field.
