Bungie has officially announced that Exotic Glaives and specific class-based Swords will be available to all players in Destiny 2.
The recent episode, Heresy, has introduced exciting new content, including Hive storylines and gear. Players quickly noticed an interesting change: the Exotic Glaives and some Swords that were meant for certain classes are now accessible to everyone.
Initially, Bungie claimed this was a temporary bug. They suggested players enjoy the freedom while it lasted. Now, they’ve decided to keep this feature for good.
Update on Class-Specific Exotic Glaives and Swords
Bungie recently updated players in their This Week in Destiny blog. They confirmed that the class-specific Glaives and Swords would stay unlocked. The developers initially planned to correct the issue but changed their minds after seeing how players embraced it.
This shift happened due to changes behind the scenes in how weapons and rewards are managed. These updates accidentally lifted class restrictions on some Exotic Glaives and Swords. Instead of reversing the decision, Bungie chose to keep this unexpected freedom.
“We’ve been seeing some great celebrations with the removal of these constraints,” Bungie remarked. “While we initially aimed to uphold the unique class identities in Destiny, the community’s response made us rethink our approach.”
The class-specific legendary swords and exotic Glaives include:
- Quickfang
- Crown Splitter
- Eternity’s Edge
- Edge of Intent
- Edge of Action
- Edge of Concurrence
Now, Hunters can wield Titan and Warlock Glaives, and Titans can unleash their inner ninja with Quickfang. However, be aware that some animations might look a bit off, as they weren’t made for all classes.
