Devastating Storm Ravages North Texas: Roofs Torn Off in a Furious Blitz

A powerful storm hit North Texas on Tuesday, leaving many without power and causing significant damage. Thousands of homes and businesses lost electricity, and local authorities responded to building damage, school closures, and evacuations.

By Tuesday afternoon, over 350,000 customers were in the dark, mainly in North Texas. The storm’s high winds affected nearly a dozen counties, especially around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The exact number of outages from the storm is still unclear.

This storm is part of a strong system that stretched from Iowa all the way down to Texas. As it moves east, weather experts predict it will strengthen, bringing even more severe winds, possible blizzard conditions, and localized flooding. The National Weather Service is closely monitoring the situation.

Warnings are already out for blizzards in the Great Plains and severe storms in southern states. Areas from eastern Oklahoma to Alabama and parts of western Florida could see damaging winds, hail, and potential tornadoes. The storm’s impact is expected to reach much of the East Coast on Wednesday.

In Irving, located just northwest of Dallas, damage was concentrated in a two-square-mile area. This neighborhood, home to around 250,000 people, experienced severe effects from the storm. Meteorologists are currently investigating whether a tornado caused the destruction in that area.
