Devin Booker Sounds Alarm on Hooters’ Bankruptcy: What It Means for Fans and the Future of the Iconic Brand

Devin Booker is stepping up to save Hooters.

The Phoenix Suns star is expressing concern for the famous restaurant chain, which is reportedly facing bankruptcy. Just recently, it was revealed that Hooters of America is in talks with creditors to manage its $300 million debt through a Chapter 11 filing.

After leading his team to a 121-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls, where he scored 29 points, Booker took to X to share his feelings. He simply wrote, “Plz don’t go Hooters.” His support for the chain struck a chord with fans who know his past.

Booker’s love for Hooters isn’t new. His connection to the restaurant goes back to May 9, 2012, when he tweeted about going there with friends, long before he became a professional basketball player.

He’s not alone in his desire to see Hooters thrive. Influencer Paige Spiranac also reacted on X, saying, “Not on my watch,” when she heard the news about potential downsizing.

While the news about Hooters raises some concerns, it doesn’t mean the chain is shutting down completely. Last year, about 40 locations closed due to underperformance, but there are still around 300 Hooters outlets worldwide. Interestingly, none of the closures were in Arizona.

This strategic move is aimed at reducing debt and adjusting to new trends in the restaurant industry.

Meanwhile, Booker has his own challenges on the basketball court. The Suns currently hold a record of 27-29, placing them 11th in the Western Conference. If the season ended today, they would miss the Play-In Tournament.
