Google is making waves in travel tech with its new Find Hub feature, helping travelers keep track of their luggage. Several airlines, including Air India and Turkish Airlines, are already on board. Google hopes to add more airlines soon, like Qantas. According to Sofia Giovannello, a spokesperson for Google, they’re actively collaborating with U.S. airlines to integrate this tool into their luggage recovery processes.
With Find Hub, you can share your bag’s location easily, and you can stop sharing whenever you want. The location data is encrypted for your privacy and will stop tracking once your phone detects that your bag is back with you. Google is even partnering with Samsonite to incorporate Find Hub technology directly into new luggage designs.
This feature isn’t the only exciting update for Android users. There’s also a new way to share your location with friends and family through Google Messages. This could be super helpful when trying to meet up in busy places like airports or concerts.
In addition to these features, Google is introducing custom Calling Cards, allowing you to create your own to share with your contacts. They are also adding short-form videos in the Play Store to showcase different apps and a new section on Android Auto for kid-friendly games while parked.
These advancements reflect a growing trend in technology aimed at making travel smoother and more connected. As people increasingly rely on their phones for travel needs, tools like Find Hub not only enhance convenience but also bring peace of mind.
