Discover Better Health: Mobile Health Clinic Coming to Cameron University’s Duncan Campus

DUNCAN, Okla. – Cameron University-Duncan is hosting the District 8 Mobile Wellness Unit (MWU) on January 28. This event aims to provide accessible health care to the community.

The event works in partnership with the Stephens County Health Department. It’s open to anyone in need of health services, especially those who may struggle to afford care. Best of all, it’s completely free!

While the mobile unit won’t offer extensive medical care, it will provide a variety of essential services. You can get wellness checks, treatment for minor illnesses, immunizations for both kids and adults, STI/HIV screenings, sports physicals, and support for mental health. There will also be education on nutrition and health screenings for diabetes and cholesterol.

If you need help with more serious health concerns, like diabetes management or prenatal care, staff will be available to refer you to the right resources.

No appointments are necessary, but if you’d like one, you can call 580-252-0270.

Dr. Dakota Kaus, the director at CU-Duncan, shares the sentiment of pride in facilitating this service for the local community. “The Stephens County Health Department is focused on improving health care access, and we’re glad to support that mission,” he said.

Mark your calendars! The event takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cameron University campus, located at 3100 W. Bois D’Arc Ave.
