Spitz Mediterranean Street Food is set to bring a fresh dining experience to West Hartford. Kristen Gorski, the town’s economic development coordinator, welcomes this exciting addition. Owners Paige and Nick Chamberlain are eager to become a part of the community. Their enthusiastic approach suggests they will quickly be the go-to spot.
The restaurant will offer Mediterranean street food like gyros, wraps, salads, and wings. It will open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and extend hours to 10 p.m. on weekends. Paige highlights that they will feature a vertical rotisserie for cooking meats, ensuring fresh and flavorful dishes. There will also be vegetarian and vegan options, along with a children’s menu. Customers can order at the counter, but they’ll also enjoy table service.
Both Paige and Nick grew up in nearby Simsbury, making West Hartford feel like home. With a background in hospitality, Paige has passion for creating great dining experiences, while Nick’s expertise lies in finance and business.
“This is our first location on the East Coast,” Paige shares. The Chamberlains were inspired by Nick’s family, who own several locations in Utah and love the Spitz community. Spitz operates in various states, including Texas, Arizona, and California.
The couple believes this opportunity is perfect for them. With a successful model in place, they see great potential in West Hartford. They also aim to revive the former Plan B restaurant space, now equipped with a full bar. They are currently seeking a liquor license to offer craft beers, wines, and spirits.
The trend of casual dining is on the rise. A recent survey revealed that 70% of consumers prefer quick-service restaurants for their convenience and variety. Restaurants like Spitz capture this change, blending a laid-back atmosphere with quality meals.
As they prepare to open, the local community is buzzing with excitement on social media, sharing their anticipation and favorite Mediterranean dishes. With its unique offerings and inviting vibe, Spitz is poised to become a beloved neighborhood spot.
