Discover Culinary Delights: Join Us for Foodie Fridays at the Palm Springs Cultural Center!

Looking for something fun to do on Friday nights? Check out Foodie Fridays at the Palm Springs Cultural Center! It’s a great spot for food lovers and families alike.

Foodie Fridays is a new evening market happening every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. It kicks off this week at the Cultural Center, located at 2300 E. Baristo Road. You can look forward to various local vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment.

Lindsay Jordan, the manager of the Palm Springs Farmers Market, shares that this event fills a void in the area. “Friday nights can be dull if you don’t want to go to a bar or sit in a restaurant. Here, you can enjoy dinner, grab a drink, watch a movie, and enjoy live music—all in one place,” she said.

Food trucks will line the parking lot, offering everything from pizzas to BBQ. Admission is free, and meals will range from about $9 to $15. An outdoor bar will serve cocktails, and there will be tables with heat lamps to keep you cozy.

Families can join in on the fun too, with activities planned for the kids. Depending on how popular it gets, there may even be themed markets, like a vinyl record market!

Some of the first vendors you can expect at Foodie Fridays include:

  • Al Fresco Pizza: Napoletana pizza
  • CalBucha Kombucha: Refreshing probiotic tea
  • CrushCrush Cookies: Homemade cookies
  • June’s Macaroons: Handcrafted macaroons in various flavors
  • Native Farms: Mediterranean dips and chips
  • Papas BBQ: Arkansas-style smoked meats
  • Perfectly Endless Links: Permanent jewelry
  • Uncle D’s Smokehouse BBQ & Grill: Homestyle BBQ dishes

The Cultural Center has more than just food! This Friday, you can catch Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film “The Wrong Man,” as part of the Hitchcock Retrospective series, starting at 7 p.m. There’s also a documentary titled “Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story,” about Liza Minnelli, showing at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $7 for students.

If you’re into live performances, don’t miss “Razzle Dazzle: A Broadway Revue,” hosted by Bonnie Gilgallon at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

The Desert Ensemble Theatre will present a show called “Tru.” It showcases a pivotal moment in writer Truman Capote’s life, featuring a performance by Chuck Yates. Tickets are $40, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
