Ronse, Belgium – Devan Chemicals has just launched a new bio-based textile solution called “Devan Sleep Tight.” This innovative product debuted at Heimtextil earlier this month.
What makes it special? The active ingredient comes from an upcycled by-product of Australian Tea Tree oil. It works through two main ways: inhalation and skin contact, enhancing sleep quality and skin rejuvenation.
How it works
The microcapsules, which are 97% bio-based, break apart when they experience friction with your body. This releases the capsule’s content, allowing it to be absorbed by your skin. At the same time, the beneficial ingredients can be inhaled.
This technology helps boost melatonin, decreases reactive oxygen species (ROS), and promotes antioxidant production. It also stimulates collagen gene expression, helping your skin regenerate during sleep.
Products launching this spring
During Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Devan showcased its Sleep Tight technology alongside partners like Crispim Abreu Lda and Lameirinho from Portugal, and Naturtex from Hungary. These companies specialize in bedding and sleep products.
The first products using Devan Sleep Tight are already in production, with an expected market release by the second quarter of 2025.
“Collaboration drives innovation,” says Marleen Van der Auwera, head of Devan Chemicals’ Health & Wellness Division. “By teaming up with industry leaders, we are setting new standards for sleep-enhancing textiles.”
