The Spring Fling, hosted by the Campus Activities Board, is back this year! It’s a fantastic opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy a fun afternoon filled with games, food, and music.
Mark your calendars for Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Founders Plaza, right after Scholars Day. Director of Student Activities Josh Prilliman shared that many beloved activities from last year will return, including a dunk tank, an inflatable slide, a watermelon eating contest, and a photo booth.
Prilliman, along with juniors Kassidy Miller and Travia Smith, has been busy planning fresh activities and food options. “Working with the team has been rewarding,” Smith said. “We brainstormed together to ensure we provide the best experience for students.”
This teamwork has led to exciting additions like a rock wall, funnel cakes, snow cones, fried Oreos, wings, cotton candy, and a fresh lemonade stand. You can also enjoy the talents of balloon artists and face painters!
<p“It’s the perfect chance to unwind before finals,” Miller said. Last year, the event attracted over 150 students, and this year, Prilliman hopes for an even bigger turnout. “After all the hard work you’ve put in, take a break. Grab some food and enjoy some fun!”
According to recent data, events like these not only foster community but can significantly reduce stress, which is crucial during the hectic exam period. A study by the American Psychological Association shows that engaging in such activities can boost well-being and academic performance.
The Spring Fling isn’t just an event; it’s a chance to relax and celebrate the end of the semester. Don’t miss out on the festivities!
