This winter, Vail Resorts is making exciting changes to its dining options on the mountains. They’ve teamed up with Outer Range Brewing Co. from Frisco, allowing guests to enjoy their brews at various locations across their Colorado resorts.
At Breckenridge Ski Resort, the dining experience has expanded significantly. On Peak 9, visitors can savor sweet and savory stuffed waffles at the Maggie Waffle Shop and enjoy live music at Maggie Kitchen & Taphouse, which features 14 beers on tap. The Overlook spot offers ramen, and daily “Sake Golden Hour” adds a fun twist from 2 to 3 p.m. Over at TenMile Station, the new smokestack platter and a BBQ sauce bar promise flavors for everyone.
Peak 8 is a buzz of energy with quick snacks and drinks. Ski Hill Grill Coffee Bar serves loaded hot chocolates and fresh pastries, while the Ski Hill Grill is popular for its hot dog platters. Vista Haus brings a European touch with mulled wine and fondue, and 6-Chair Hut has grab-and-go snacks and drinks for busy skiers.
On Peak 7, Pioneer Crossing offers Taco Tuesday specials with Mexican beers and margaritas, while the Horizon Hut on Peak 6 is set to reopen, focusing on quick meals and energizing drinks for adventurers.
At Keystone Resort, a new snowcat called the “Dog Cat” will roam the mountains, serving hot dogs and drinks. Upgrades at Timber Ridge will modernize the dining experience for guests seeking quick service.
Recent surveys have shown that food quality is becoming a key factor in choosing ski resorts. Guests want good eats to complement their skiing adventures. A 2022 report noted that 75% of skiers are more likely to choose a resort based on its dining offerings.
This shift in focus on diverse and quality dining reflects a growing trend across the ski industry, where resorts are recognizing the importance of the overall guest experience. As winter rolls on, it’s clear that food can add a layer of joy to a day on the slopes.
