Exciting Launch of Jacksonville’s First Outdoor Food Hall: The Block Jax

Jacksonville has a new hotspot in the Deerwood neighborhood: The Block Jax, the city’s very first outdoor food hall. It opened with a bang over the weekend, inviting families and sports fans alike to explore.

This vibrant venue covers 10,000 square feet and features a cozy pavilion with various food vendors and a stage for live entertainment. The creators envisioned it as a space where families can kick back without the pressure of rushing through their meal. Daniel Moffatt, one of the founders, shared why this concept is significant for families with young children. Instead of feeling hurried at a restaurant, parents can enjoy their time while kids play freely.

The venue boasts several fun attractions, including a kids’ area, a dog park, and a massive 30-foot LED wall for watching games and movies. There’s something for everyone.

All food orders are made easy since The Block Jax is cashless, and customers can use QR codes to order from the comfort of their seats. Cassie Romines, the director of Culinary Operations, highlighted how straightforward this process is. It’s a fun way to enjoy good food and good company.

Many unique food vendors are bringing diverse offerings to the lineup. Chancho King, for example, has brought fan favorites like pork sandwiches and rice bowls, alongside new seafood items that will feature on weekends. Other vendors offer options such as smash burgers and gourmet hot dogs, ensuring that everyone finds something tasty to enjoy.

Interestingly, food halls like The Block Jax have become a trend. According to a recent report, 73% of millennials prefer food halls for dining, seeing them as exciting community spaces. With this surge in popularity, it seems The Block Jax is positioned for success.

Opening hours for The Block Jax are convenient, too: Fridays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It’s a place designed for lingering and enjoying quality time with loved ones.

Whether you are looking for a casual family outing, a place to watch your favorite team, or simply indulging in delicious food, The Block Jax is a promising new addition to Jacksonville’s vibrant scene. For more details, check out The Block Jax website.
