Discover Fireside Market’s Exciting New Food-Centric Convenience Store Design!

Midwest convenience retailer Fireside Market is making waves with its new store design in Slinger, Wisconsin. This 9,700-square-foot flagship location is an exciting shift for the company, marking its commitment to larger, food-focused convenience stores.

Fireside’s latest spot features a made-to-order food menu complete with a drive-thru and curbside pickup. You’ll also find electric vehicle chargers alongside traditional fuel options, a first for Fireside stores.

This trend of adopting large, food-centric formats is on the rise in the convenience store industry. A recent study noted that nearly 63% of convenience stores are now prioritizing food service to meet consumer demands. Fireside aims to tap into this growing appetite by using insights from Paragon Solutions, a design firm that helped shape its vision.

David Lloveras, executive vice president of Fireside Market, highlights the importance of this collaboration. “Paragon was instrumental in this project,” he said. This store is designed not just for convenience but for community, featuring outdoor green spaces where guests can relax.

With this new location, Fireside is also expanding its workforce, adding 30 full- and part-time jobs to the local economy. The store will serve a variety of made-to-order items, including burgers, salads, and gelato, positioning itself as a go-to food spot in the area.

While brands like Sheetz and Wawa have successfully integrated drive-thrus, many in the industry have struggled due to real estate limitations and menu challenges. Fireside’s success could inspire other retailers to follow suit.

This fresh approach to convenience reminds us of how grocery stores adapted in the past to meet changing consumer needs. As the market shifts, retailers like Fireside will continue to innovate and redefine what convenience means.
