Frank N Lola’s food truck is making a tasty splash this Mardi Gras season with their new King Cake Nachos. This special treat features crispy tortilla chips, dusted with cinnamon sugar. They’re topped off with king cake cheesecake, salted caramel, fresh whipped cream, and berries. You can find them at Pop’s Midtown, where they’re showing off this seasonal delight.
The owners, Kyle and Christina Urrutia, have created a loyal fan base over the years. Their food truck won the People’s Choice award for Best Burger at Mobtown Burger Week for three years straight, from 2023 to 2025. It was also named Best Food Truck in Alabama by Mashed Food and Chowhound in late 2025.
Recently, the Urrutias decided it was time for their next step. They’re excited to announce plans for their first permanent spot in Grand Bay, which they hope to open by the end of this month. “Being on the road takes its toll on our truck. We saw the perfect opportunity and knew it was the right moment to make this move,” Kyle shared.
The couple is dedicated to serving everything fresh and made to order. “It might take a little while, but you’ll get hot and fresh food. That’s our promise,” Christina explained. It’s clear they value quality and customer satisfaction.
In today’s food scene, food trucks are more popular than ever. A recent survey found that nearly 60% of Americans visit food trucks at least once a month, indicating a growing trend for quick, quality meals on the go. As Frank N Lola’s transitions into a brick-and-mortar location, they’re tapping into a wave of support for local businesses, especially as many consumers prioritize dining local.
