On November 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation will host a turkey and coat drive at Malcolm X Park. They aim to support 300 families with Thanksgiving baskets that include turkeys and winter clothing items. Residents can sign up through this form or by calling 215-895-4000.
Turkey Giveaway in South Kensington
On November 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Arab American Community Development Corporation will hold a turkey giveaway at Al-Aqsa Mosque. No ID is required. They plan to distribute 250 turkeys along with sides. The fundraiser aims to raise $5,000, and they’ve currently collected $3,195. Donations can be made through their GoFundMe page.
Turkey and Grocery Giveaway in West Philly
A turkey and grocery giveaway will take place on November 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Victory Christian Center of Philadelphia. The Conquerors Community Development Corporation, along with local representatives, will provide 100 turkeys, fresh produce, and canned goods on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Community Friendsgiving in Germantown
On November 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., First United Methodist Church of Germantown will host its Sixth Annual Community Friendsgiving. They plan to serve 1,000 people a free Thanksgiving meal, including turkey and side dishes. Donations of food can be made at Das Good Cafe.
Additionally, House of Glory Philly will hold its fourth annual community Thanksgiving on the same day, offering hot meals, fresh produce, and toiletries, along with mental health resources and utility assistance.
Thanksgiving Donations in South Philly
The South Philly Food Co-op is collaborating with the South Philly Community Fridge to ensure families have access to turkeys and Thanksgiving items. Donations can be made online, or you can volunteer at one of the fridge locations. There are seven locations throughout South Philly for those needing food assistance this holiday season.
