Indian Railways runs two timetables: one for the monsoon season with speed restrictions for safety, and one for the rest of the year. The new timetable allows for efficient and timely travel along the scenic Konkan Railway route.
This train, numbered 20645/20646, travels 437 km in just 4 hours and 35 minutes. It makes two stops: at Karwar and Udupi. After the revision, train 20646 departs Mangaluru Central at 8:30 AM and arrives in Madgaon at 1:10 PM. The return train, number 20645, leaves Madgaon at 6:10 PM and reaches Mangaluru at 10:45 PM. It operates every day except Thursday.
Ticket prices vary by seating: an AC Chair Car ticket costs around ₹1,230, while an Executive Chair Car ticket is priced at ₹2,220. The Vande Bharat Express was launched on December 30, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and began its commercial operations on January 1, 2024.
