According to Yariel Diaz, the Director of Government Affairs at Serve Robotics, these robots operate at “level four autonomy.” This level allows them to make decisions on their own while traveling.
Diaz explains, “It makes no sense to deliver a two-ton burrito in a two-ton car.” Using robots for delivery is more efficient, reducing traffic and emissions.

Nick Lynberg shared, “If there was an option to try having a robot deliver food to my house, I would try it.” He mentioned he had questions about the robot’s journey and food safety, such as whether the food stays warm.
As Serve Robotics moves into Alexandria, they plan to expand further into the DC region. Experts in the tech industry see this shift as part of a larger trend toward automation in everyday life, noting that such technology can change how we think about delivery services.
