JAMESTOWN – At Lifestyle Appliance and Entertainment Center, community matters. Owners Toni and Colin Wegenast believe their business thrives thanks to local support.
“We owe our success to the community,” Toni shared. “We try to help as many local organizations as we can.” They frequently receive requests for donations and make an effort to contribute.
Colin added, “When customers choose to shop locally, it strengthens the community, and we like to give back.”
Both Colin and Toni are active community members. Toni serves as secretary of the Kiwanis Club, president of the Safe Shelter board, and is involved with Make-A-Wish North Dakota. Colin is on the board of First Community Credit Union and the Jamestown Mystics.
Colin noted, “Shoutout to our employees! Their hard work gives us time to engage in community projects.” Toni agreed, emphasizing their critical role in allowing them to participate in local initiatives.
The couple’s commitment to community involvement follows in the footsteps of Colin’s father, LeRoy, who founded the business. “He taught us that giving back is essential for a local business,” Toni said.
The family business is now entering its 49th year, with their son Noah also active in operations.
Lifestyle Appliance offers a range of products, including major kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, and outdoor items like Big Green Egg grills and Nordic hot tubs. They feature trusted brands such as Whirlpool, Maytag, and LG. Their commitment to customer service includes free delivery within a 75-mile radius and quick access to parts for self-repairs.
The store employs ten people, including full-time service technicians and sales staff. They operate Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In a recent survey by the National Retail Federation, local businesses that engage in community support saw a 14% increase in customer loyalty over those that did not. This trend underscores the Wegenasts’ efforts to give back. It’s a win-win for them and for the community they cherish.
