Discover How Loma Linda University Health Earned Top Leapfrog Safety Grades: What It Means for You!

Loma Linda University Health is making waves with its outstanding patient safety ratings. This Spring 2026, both the Loma Linda University Medical Center and East Campus hospitals earned their 15th and 16th consecutive “A” ratings from the Leapfrog Group, while the Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta received its fifth consecutive “A.”

The Leapfrog Safety Grades are released twice a year and are based on important safety measures aimed at reducing medical errors and hospital-related harm. These grades highlight how well a hospital protects its patients.

Dr. Anthony Hilliard, the President-Elect and CEO of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals, stated, “Our values of excellence and teamwork are key to providing safe and exceptional care every day. These awards give our community confidence in our commitment to quality.”

The Leapfrog Group is a respected, independent organization that evaluates hospitals across the nation. They grade facilities from “A” to “F” based on over 30 performance measures, which include tracking medical errors and acquiring systems to prevent harm. What sets Leapfrog apart is its focus solely on patient safety and transparent grading that is accessible to everyone.

To further understand hospital safety, it’s interesting to note that a recent survey from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses found that 70% of patients feel safer when their hospital has strong safety ratings. This shows how much ratings like Leapfrog’s impact public perception and patient decisions about where to receive care.
