CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — This week marked the start of the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, or SEWE, in downtown Charleston. Saturday was expected to be the busiest day, filled with exciting wildlife encounters.
The event featured dog demonstrations, educational booths, and various animal attractions right in Marion Square. It was a great chance to see amazing animals up close and learn about conservation.
Lindsay Harris, who attended SEWE for the first time, shared her experience. “The educational activities were fantastic,” she said. “I went to a show and learned about different animals and the important work being done to protect them.”
Ten-year-old Maddox also found the expo enlightening. “I learned a lot about dolphins at SEWE,” he mentioned, clearly excited about his discoveries.
Charleston resident Erin Cockfield added, “Many people who live here might not know about all the educational programs available. SEWE helps raise awareness about things like birds of prey. Even as adults, we can keep learning and growing.”
Sunday will be the last day to enjoy the range of exhibitors, vendors, and educational experiences at SEWE. With live music, fun events, and plenty of shopping, there’s something for everyone at this lively wildlife celebration.
