As a Deathwing Champion, I wanted to create a unique character for my game. I found a Halberd from an old Deathwing Command Squad in my bits box. To give it a better look, I combined it with a haft from a Grey Knight Terminator. This setup lets him swing it one-handed.
For gameplay, I picked the Terminator Armour Specialism, fitting for his profile. His ability, Tactical Precision, helps boost his unit in battle. The halberd serves as a powerful weapon for the Unforgiven. Even though I could have given him ranged weapons, I liked sticking to the classic Deathwing look. Instead of a gun, he points out targets for his teammates to shoot at. One day, I plan to convert a Watcher in the Dark to carry a plasma talon for him. Yes, plasma talons are an option for Dark Angels characters!
Next, I needed a name to match his aura. I used a name generator from an old Codex: Dark Angels and decided on Zerachiel, Champion of the Deathwing, Heir of Corswain.
Character creation adds depth to the game. Many players are crafting custom heroes, from Genestealer Cults psykers on dirt bikes to flying Drukhari Haemonculi. It’s exciting to see so much creativity blooming in the community.
Recent statistics show that the Warhammer community has grown by 20% in the past year alone. With more players, the variety of characters and battle strategies continues to expand. Social media buzz around custom characters is vibrant, with hashtags like #WarhammerCreatives gaining traction. Players share their original designs, finding inspiration from each other’s creations.
Remember, creating your own characters adds a personal touch to your army. You can express your style and imagination, just like I did with Zerachiel. Enjoy the creative process and let your ideas lead the way!
