Malda: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Malda town in West Bengal. This new train will run between Howrah in West Bengal and Kamakhya in Guwahati, Assam.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train stands out for its combination of speed and comfort, designed for long overnight journeys. It can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h, but will typically operate between 120-130 km/h, making it the fastest service on this route.

The train features 16 coaches: 11 Third AC, four Second AC, and one First AC, accommodating up to 823 passengers. Travelers will enjoy the journey in just 14 hours.

Train number 27575, the Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat sleeper, departs Howrah at 18:20 and arrives in Kamakhya the next day at 8:20 AM.

This train is fitted with advanced safety measures, including the Kavach anti-collision system, emergency communication systems, and automatic fire detection. Passengers’ security is further ensured through centralized monitoring and CCTV surveillance.
