Jazeera Airways is making waves by adding four new destinations in India: Kozhikode, Tiruchirappalli, Mangalore, and Kannur. This move is part of their Project Vande Bharat, which now brings their total to 12 Indian destinations with 49 flights each week. Jazeera is the only airline connecting Kuwait to India, strengthening vital links for many.
These new routes enhance Jazeera’s existing connections to cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, making travel easier for the Indian community in Kuwait. The additions help passengers get closer to home and boost social and economic ties between the two countries. Flights will operate via King Fahad International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, improving access to South India.
Barathan Pasupathi, CEO of Jazeera Airways, highlighted the importance of India as a key market. Since March 20, when they resumed flights, over 11,000 Indian passengers have traveled with them. By increasing their network, Jazeera aims to provide more direct flights, especially to South India, while facilitating essential travel during these times.
The expanded network also supports the movement of professionals returning to work and ensures a steady flow of goods between Kuwait and India. Kaizar Shakir, Chairman of the Indian Business and Professionals Council in Kuwait, praised Jazeera for enhancing this connectivity at a crucial time. He noted that Jazeera’s efforts are timely and have a significant impact on the Indian community, which relies on these connections.
Jazeera Airways operates through two bases in Saudi Arabia—Dammam and Qaisumah—offering a reliable travel option, even amidst challenges. Currently, the airline boasts over 31 destinations across 10 countries, providing around 1,000 flights and 250,000 seats, along with a cargo capacity of more than 2 million tons through April.
