Discover John A. Stout: The Summit of Ohio’s Adventure Awaits!

John A. Stout, 67, of Belle Center, peacefully passed away on September 18, 2025, after a long struggle with dilated cardiomyopathy. He cherished his time at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on August 26, 1958, in Kenton, Ohio, John graduated from Benjamin Logan Schools in 1976. He earned his degree in agricultural business and education from The Ohio State University in 1982. In 1987, he married Jeanne Beatty in DeGraff, Ohio. Together, they raised two adoring children on the family farm.

John is survived by Jeanne, their children Jessica and Jacob (Tori), granddaughter Remington “Remi,” and sister Jane (Dan) Blair, along with various nieces and nephews.

As a lifelong farmer, John expands the family legacy while launching J. Stout Trucking LTD., which he ran for 50 years. His passions included historical military gun collecting, visiting gun shows, and traveling with Jeanne. Family meant everything to him—his pride in his children shone through whenever he spoke of them, and being a grandfather was his greatest joy.

John was known for his warm presence and infectious laughter. He never met a stranger and could easily turn a trip into an adventure filled with stories and local history. His community ties ran deep; he was actively involved in the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church and the Miami Grange in DeGraff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Belle Center United Presbyterian Church, or the BMRT Squad in Belle Center, organizations that held special meaning for him.

A celebration of life service will be held on September 27, 2025, at the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church. Pastor Ted Dennis will officiate, with lunch to follow.

John’s kindness and zest for life will be missed by many, especially his family, who will carry his memory forward.
