Korean startups and K-water earn innovation awards, landing $35 million in deals.

K-water showcased its advanced water management solutions at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This event is a big step for K-water in boosting its exports globally.
The company teamed up with 19 startups from Korea’s water industry. Together, they presented solutions aimed at ensuring water security, especially in our changing climate.
Key technologies on display included a digital twin for water management, AI-driven water treatment plants, and smart water networks. These innovations are crucial for making water systems more efficient as climate challenges grow.
The event led to over 800 meetings about exports and investments, with a total value around 51 billion won (about $35 million). There were also discussions about local products, tech demos, and partnerships, resulting in five memorandums of understanding being signed.
Among the startups, First Lab sought to partner with European cosmetics firms, while Blue Device looked into tech collaborations with leaders in the display market. Fawoo Nanotech held important talks with Arizona’s government and big electronics companies.
Significantly, 12 startups hail from provincial areas, showcasing how local businesses can thrive on the international scene.
Three startups were honored with CES Innovation Awards for their remarkable technologies. Inosep received recognition for its artificial kidney using filtration membranes. Fawoo Nanotech’s device for creating industrial-grade nanobubbles to cleanse pipes was also acknowledged. First Lab was honored for its method to break down harmful compounds in water.
Since 2023, K-water’s participation in CES has helped Korean water companies enter competitive markets globally, contributing to an export value of about 231.5 billion won by 2024.
“At CES 2025, we highlighted Korea’s water tech innovations and reinforced our global standing,” said An Jung-ho from K-water. “We’re committed to leading the water tech field and exploring new markets for future growth.”
