Meet the Lenovo ThinkBook ‘flip’ concept. Its special screen folds once to create two different display areas.
CNBC: Lenovo Flip PC
Lenovo introduced a laptop with a foldable screen and one powered by solar energy this past Monday.
These devices are still just ideas and not for sale yet. Lenovo, a leader in PC manufacturing, likes to showcase exciting concepts. Some of these ideas eventually become real products, so it’s interesting to see what they come up with next.
One previous concept was a rollable laptop, where the screen rolls up to expand the display size. That product is set to launch this year.
These new ideas were revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Foldable Laptop Screen
The Lenovo ThinkBook ‘flip’ features an 18-inch foldable screen. When you fold it in half, you get two displays—one in front and one in back.
You can also lay it flat, transforming the laptop into a tablet.

Foldable screens are becoming popular in smartphones, with brands like Samsung and Honor leading the way. Huawei has even launched a smartphone with a trifold screen.
However, large foldable screens on laptops are still quite rare.
Lenovo will need to enhance the durability of these displays before they can be sold to customers.
Solar-Powered Laptop
The Lenovo Yoga Solar PC is another exciting concept shown at the Mobile World Congress 2025. It features solar panels on the back, providing extra battery life.

This solar-powered laptop is part of Lenovo’s Yoga line. The solar panels absorb light to extend battery use.
While it also works with a regular charger, the idea is to give users a boost of power when they can’t find a plug. Lenovo claims these panels can even capture ambient light, adding an hour of use at the end of a typical eight-hour workday.
