Discover Local Treasures: Airdrie Home and Lifestyle Show Highlights Thriving Businesses

This past weekend, the Airdrie Home and Lifestyle Show welcomed a large crowd eager to support local businesses. Marilyne Aalhus, the Executive Director of the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce, noted the event’s success, saying, “We couldn’t have asked for a better crowd Saturday and Sunday.”

Saturday drew in what might have been a record number of attendees, leading to an exciting atmosphere. “We had thousands of attendees come out, the 200 exhibitors were sold out, and it was just a wonderful weekend celebrating our community,” Aalhus added.

A standout feature was the Rising Stars Talent Show, the first of its kind for the event. Dancer Keela Dumont took home the grand prize of $250 and a chance to perform this fall at the Airdrie Regional Business Awards. “We had 10 amazing participants and great judges. It was tough to choose a winner, but Dumont truly dazzled us,” said one of the event organizers.

Each day, the first 100 visitors entered for free, and the early arrivals also received swag bags packed with goodies. The excitement was palpable, with attendees smiling and enjoying the variety of local offerings, summer renovation ideas, and impressive performances on stage.

This year’s event not only fostered community spirit but also highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses. According to a recent survey, 70% of small business owners believe community support plays a crucial role in their success. Events like these help strengthen that support by creating connections between residents and entrepreneurs.

The Airdrie Home and Lifestyle Show is set to return next year, promising even more fun and opportunities for local businesses and performers alike.
