Discover Manhattan’s Exciting New Culinary Gem: Time Out Market Food Hall Opens Its Doors!

Food lovers in NYC are buzzing about the new Time Out Market in Union Square. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this food hall offers a lineup of exciting dining options from well-known chefs.

Among the stars is Kwame Onwuachi, a “Top Chef” competitor, who runs Patty Palace. Another highlight is Chintan Pandya of Unapologetic Foods, known for his innovative Indian fare at Semma. You can also grab tacos at Taqueria El Chato, burgers from Lori Jayne, and artisan pizza from Fornino.

This marks the second NYC location for Time Out Market, which has established food halls in cities like Barcelona and Dubai. The Union Square venue opened in September and features seven vendors and generous seating for customers.

Before you go, check the market’s Instagram to avoid any surprises. On my visit, the market closed early, and I missed trying the Kebabwala. Still, I managed to taste a variety of dishes. Here are my top picks:

Curry Chicken Patty from Patty Palace

The curry chicken patty ($15) stole the show. It comes sandwiched in yummy coco bread and is filled with rich, flavorful chicken curry. The generous drizzle of green aioli and jerk barbecue sauce gives it a kick that elevates the dish. I would recommend sharing this if you want to save room for more!

Al Pastor Taco from Taqueria El Chato

The al pastor taco ($5) offered a delightful surprise. When you bite into it, you get tender pork, freshly shaved from the trompo, topped with a slice of pineapple. It’s hard to find such authentic flavors anywhere else in the city.

Hat Yai Fried Chicken from Kam Rai

If you’re craving Thai food, the fried chicken from Kam Rai ($16) is a must. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it’s paired with sticky rice and topped with crispy shallots. Trust me, it’s worth the wait!

Lombardi Pizza from Fornino

For pizza lovers, the Lombardi pie ($23) is a unique choice. Although it skips the tomato sauce, the combination of prosciutto and cheese creates a balanced, savory flavor. You’ll want to savor every bite.

With its variety of food options, Time Out Market is a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Check it out at 124 E. 14th St., New York, and discover your new favorite dishes!
