Discover MCPHD’s New Online Resource to Boost Your Mental Health: Your Guide to Wellness Awaits!

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Public Health Department has launched a new online tool aimed at boosting mental wellness without any stigma. This resource, known as CredibleMind, is available 24/7 to help people explore and understand their mental health.

CredibleMind provides users with a mental health assessment and a treasure trove of resources. This extensive library includes videos, podcasts, books, and articles, all vetted by experts. “It’s crucial to learn about our mental wellness to understand our feelings,” said Dr. Virginia A. Caine, director of the Marion County Public Health Department. This free program is a step towards better mental health and overall wellbeing.

The site covers over 100 topics ranging from stress and relationships to sleep and aging. It also features local resources and professional services, making it easier for users to find the help they need.

According to a recent Community Health Assessment, mental health is a top concern in Marion County. Danielle Rhodes, director of the Social Work department, highlighted that CredibleMind helps kickstart conversations about mental health, especially in times when accessing care can be challenging. “While it doesn’t replace a therapist, it sets the stage for a healthier mindset,” she noted.

Users can save their favorite resources and track progress over time. CredibleMind even caters to a diverse community by offering its services in English, Spanish, Burmese, French, Haitian Creole, and Swahili.

For more direct support, individuals can contact the Marion County Public Health Department’s Social Work department at 317-221-2364.

Recent statistics reveal that nearly one in five adults in the U.S. experience mental health issues each year, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. This makes accessible tools like CredibleMind even more essential. As mental health awareness grows, resources that are easy to navigate can play a critical role in improving lives.
