Last week, I talked about how some local soccer players from Nashville SC have great taste in dining. Now, let’s dive into what they recommend!
First up is Dan Lovitz, a veteran player known for his fun video series, Between Two Posts. If you’re curious about Nashville’s spice levels, check out his episode featuring teammates Alex Muyl and Sean Davis at Prince’s Hot Chicken.
What’s Their Favorite Restaurant?
Lovitz has a soft spot for Tailor. He says it’s a unique dining experience, with only two seatings per night. The chef shares stories behind each dish, creating a family-feel atmosphere. “It’s unlike anything I’ve had before,” he adds.
Muyl has several favorites but holds back on picking just one. “I’m all about variety! I love places like Kisser, M&M Taqueria, and Xiao Bao. Kisser offers great quality without breaking the bank, while the taco truck, M&M, has a vibe that reminds me of my trips to Mexico City.”
Patrick Yazbek, also new to the team, enjoys Rolf and Daughters for its laid-back vibe and dependable menu, particularly the lemon garlic chicken.
Jack Maher can’t get enough of Sho Pizza Bar. “I tried the Salumi pizza after Dan recommended it, and it was fantastic!”
Where Do They Eat Most Often?
Maher shared that he often heads to Jack Brown’s for a burger celebrating after a match. He’s also tempted by their fried Oreos, although he admits they aren’t an everyday treat.
Yazbek favors O-ku Sushi or Pelato, both nearby his home in Germantown. They offer good variety and quality, which he appreciates.
Comfort Food Choices
When they miss home, they turn to familiar flavors. Muyl loves Roberta’s for pizza reminiscent of New York. Yazbek, from Australia, finds comfort in Hawkers Asian Street Food, as it reminds him of the fantastic Asian cuisine he grew up with.
Maher, hailing from the Midwest, is all about Penne Pazze for its homemade pasta, while Lovitz seeks out good fish dishes, often enjoying Pelican and Pig or Fishmonger.
Family Favorites
When family comes to visit, Lovitz’s parents enjoy Folk and Henrietta Red. They also had a memorable experience at Xiao Bao. Yazbek likes to impress his family at The Twelve Thirty Club, combining live music with great food in a lively setting.
These players bring a unique taste to Nashville’s culinary scene, blending local flair with their personal backgrounds. Next time you’re in Nashville, consider trying out their recommendations for some memorable meals!
