A recent update to the VA: Health and Benefits mobile app has made it easier than ever to view COEs. With this upgrade, veterans can see their active COE Home Loan Letter in real-time, helping them take the next step toward buying a home.
If a veteran doesn’t have an active COE or wishes to update one, they should connect with their mortgage lender or visit VA.gov for assistance.
The rollout of this feature happened from March 2 to March 5, 2023, in stages. It started with 5% of users on March 2, grew to 25% the next day, reached 50% on March 4, and was fully available by March 5. This gradual approach aimed to ensure everything went smoothly.
This enhancement reflects the VA’s effort to streamline processes and empower veterans with tools to pursue their home loan benefits. The mobile app itself is designed to make access to VA services easier, whether it’s for health care appointments or benefit status updates.
According to a recent survey by the National Association of Realtors, around 48% of veterans expressed interest in using VA loans but faced challenges in the application process. Updating the app may address some of these concerns, making the transition to homeownership smoother.
