CD Projekt has just released the much-anticipated 2.3 update for Cyberpunk 2077. This update is all about making it easier to get around Night City, and it adds self-driving cars—though flying ones are still off the table.
The 2.3 update features four new vehicles: the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred,” Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, and Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila. You can unlock these through new Side Jobs. Now, players can experience a new “AutoDrive” feature, allowing their cars to drive themselves. You can either kick back and enjoy the sights or let the game take you to your destination without any steering fuss.
Players can also summon a self-driving Delamain Cab after completing the “Don’t Lose Your Mind” job. This is perfect for those busy nights in Night City when you want to rest and let a car do the work.
For photography enthusiasts, the update enhances Photo Mode. You can now capture new features like the Rayfield’s CrystalCoat, along with improved options for NPCs and outfits. If you love to create stunning visuals, you’ll appreciate the new depth of field, time, weather, and color balance settings.
The update also includes a variety of fixes and enhancements. It will support advanced features like Variable Refresh Rate for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as AMD FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS 2.0 for PC users. This will make for smoother gameplay and better visuals.
Interestingly, a recent survey showed that many players are eager for innovations in gaming, and the addition of autonomous cars aligns with a growing trend towards immersive gameplay experiences. Expert opinions from tech analysts suggest that integrating more autonomous features could redefine user interaction in open-world games.
The 2.3 update goes live tomorrow, July 17th, for most platforms, including Mac. However, Switch 2 users will have to wait a bit longer for their version.
