Discover OutStation: The Indian Boy Band Set to Rock the Stage Opening for Akon in Mumbai!

OutStation is set to open for Akon during his concert in Mumbai on November 16. This performance is part of Akon’s India tour, and it will be a significant moment for the five-member boy band. With mentorship from Savan Kotecha, a Grammy-nominated producer known for hits with stars like Ariana Grande and The Weeknd, OutStation promises an exciting set of their original music before Akon takes the stage.

“This is a huge honor for us,” the band shared. They grew up listening to Akon and will cherish this opportunity forever. Often compared to global sensations like One Direction and BTS, OutStation has quickly gained popularity. Earlier this year, they hosted India’s first teen pop prom night, where well-known artists made surprise appearances.

“We wanted to give young people a space to celebrate and express themselves,” the band explained. Their debut single will be released on November 18, just two days after their performance with Akon. This timing is crucial for the band, who formed merely four months ago.

Who is OutStation?
The group consists of Bhuvan Shetty (22, Udupi), Hemang Singh (20, Prayagraj), Mashaal Shaikh (21, Goa), Kurien Sebastian (20, Delhi), and Shayan Pattem (17, Hyderabad). They emerged from a nationwide talent search by Visva Records, a collaboration among Savan Kotecha, Republic Records, and Universal Music India. Their name reflects their roots from various towns outside Mumbai, symbolizing their journey from small-town dreamers to rising stars in Indian pop music.

A Growing Trend in Music
Group performances like OutStation’s are increasingly popular among young artists. In recent years, collaborations and live concerts have become vital for building fan bases. According to a survey by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, live shows accounted for 75% of artists’ income in 2022, highlighting the importance of events like this concert.

Taking inspiration from successful pop groups, OutStation aims to carve out their niche in the industry. Engaging with their fanbase through live performances and social media has proven effective, as younger audiences crave authenticity and real connections with their favorite artists.
