Discover Penn State University’s Fall Open House at University Libraries: Join Us on Sept. 3-4!

University Park, PA — If you’re starting or returning to Penn State’s University Park campus, mark your calendars! The Penn State University Libraries will host their annual Open House on September 3-4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pattee and Paterno Libraries.

This event is a great chance for new students to explore the libraries. You’ll take a self-guided tour with your Penn State ID and complete fun activities at various stops. There are eight interesting stations, including:

– Read for fun
– Get creative
– Start your research
– Navigate the stacks
– Get help
– Find primary sources and more.

If you visit all the stops, you’ll earn a free embroidered Penn State beanie (while supplies last) and an emailed certificate to show your instructors.

The event is run by dedicated University Libraries staff and volunteers who are ready to help you get familiar with both online and in-person resources.

For branch library events, there will be Open House activities on September 10. If you have questions about the event or need special assistance, reach out to Megan Gilpin at mcg13@psu.edu or call 814-867-0069.

This engaging experience not only helps students navigate library offerings, but it also supports their academic success. As technology evolves, libraries are adapting too. According to a recent study by the American Library Association, nearly 92% of students agree that the library is crucial for their learning, showing how valuable these resources are in today’s education.

Don’t miss this opportunity to dive into the wealth of knowledge available at Penn State Libraries!
