Ridgewood’s First Porchfest: A Celebration of Music and Community
Ridgewood is gearing up for its first-ever Porchfest on September 20, a community event where local musicians will perform on the porches of private homes. This fun gathering aims to support the Red Door Food Pantry.
From 1 to 2:55 p.m., bands will play at seven homes along Brookside and Spring Avenues. After that, performances will move to the lawn of West Side Presbyterian Church at 6 S. Monroe St. from 3 to 7:15 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site, offering delicious refreshments to attendees.
Grocery gift card donations will be welcomed to help the Social Service Association of Ridgewood, which runs the food pantry. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to relax while enjoying the music.
Jeanne Johnson from worldFLATS, one of the sponsors, shared why this event matters. “Porchfest is more than just a concert. It’s a way for Ridgewood to come together, support local talent, and help our neighbors in need,” she said.
Lineup for Porch Performances
Here’s the lineup of bands performing on the front porches:
- 1 p.m.: Ridgewood High School Marching Band at East Ridgewood and Brookside Avenues.
- 1:30 p.m.: Joe Oriente & Declan Power, 18 Brookside Ave.
- 1:50 p.m.: Dave McCarthy, 114 Brookside Ave.
- 2:05 p.m.: Acoustic Dudes, 4 Brookside Ave.
- 2:25 p.m.: Sub-Bourbonites, 120 Brookside Ave.
- 1:45 p.m.: Swingcasters, 460 Spring St.
- 2:20 p.m.: Pete Diamond, 474 Spring St.
At 3 p.m., the music shifts to West Side Presbyterian Church. Here’s the schedule:
- 3:00 p.m.: Pay Dirt Drifters
- 3:55 p.m.: Thursday Eve Collective
- 4:50 p.m.: Tokyo Night
- 5:45 p.m.: AMPED
- 6:35 p.m.: The West Side Band
