Global Traveler has revealed the winners of its 14th annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards, celebrating the best in luxury travel. The results were based on a reader survey conducted between August 2025 and January 2026. Readers had the chance to vote for their favorite travel experiences, showcasing a strong interest in quality and sustainability.
Francis X. Gallagher, the publisher and CEO of FXExpress Publications, emphasized the importance of reader input in recognizing top providers in leisure travel. “These winners truly understand what travelers desire,” he noted.
This year’s awards also included Special Achievement Awards in categories like Social Responsibility, where VisitMalta took the top spot, and Environmental Initiatives, awarded to Red Sea Global. Alaska Airlines was recognized for Outstanding Innovations.
Interestingly, a trend has emerged towards eco-conscious travel. A recent study by Booking.com found that 81% of travelers believe sustainable travel is essential. This was reflected in the awards, with many winners emphasizing their commitment to environmental practices.
The winners will be honored during a ceremony at the InterContinental Miami on April 20. The complete list showcases diverse locations and services that travelers across the globe treasure.
Here are some noteworthy categories:
- Best Adventure Destination, International: Jordan
- Best Beach: Aruba
- Best Ski Destination, International: Whistler, British Columbia
- Best Cruise Line: Regent Seven Seas Cruises
As travel continues to evolve post-pandemic, there’s a growing focus on unique experiences and personalized services. Travel companies that adapt to these trends—like those recognized in the awards—are likely to thrive.
