The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, happening on February 23, attracted many stars not only for the glamour but also for the delicious food. Celebrity chef David Chang was in charge of the menu, making sure the evening was as tasty as it was stylish.
David Chang, known for his Netflix shows like Ugly Delicious and Dinner Time Live, took on the challenge of creating a unique dining experience. Cooking for an event like this isn’t simple. The venue often comes without a fully equipped kitchen, but Chang was determined to impress.
Before the big night, he teased guests with what they could expect on their plates. The menu featured exciting dishes like Momofuku Cold Fried Chicken served with a zesty white BBQ sauce. Additionally, guests enjoyed a Kimbap Duo—either salmon or vegetables—with sides of pickled vegetables and honey butter chips. To top it all off, there was a special pizza crafted by his friend Chef Chris Bianco, known for making some of the best pizzas around.
During a preview of the menu, Chang shared, “It’s not easy to cook in a place that doesn’t have a kitchen. We aimed to create a menu that exceeded expectations.” The cocktail hour featured sliders accompanied by the tasty honey butter chips, while the main course highlighted his twist on fried chicken paired with the Korean rice rolls called kimbap.
Drinks were equally delightful, featuring Cooper’s Hawk wine, available in both Artist’s Red Blend and Artist’s White Blend. This added a special touch to the relaxed yet elegant feel of the evening.
Reflecting on a challenging year due to devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, the SAG Awards served as a heartfelt tribute to the city. The show streamed live on Netflix, with Kristen Bell returning as host. Celebrities Sofia Carson and Noah Centineo took the spotlight as ambassadors, helping to connect fans with the celebrations while championing the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
