Saturday was a lively day at the Marblehead Community Center as the Board of Health hosted its first Health & Wellness Fair. Many residents came to learn and connect with local vendors.
Nearly 30 booths were set up, covering a range of topics including fitness classes, nutrition, acupuncture, and mental health services. This variety offered something for everyone, sparking interesting conversations.
Kristin Erbetta, a social work professor at Salem State and member of the Marblehead Mental Health Task Force, noted, “People are asking great questions.” This engagement showed that the community is eager to learn more about their health options.
Tom McMahon from the Board of Health was the mastermind behind the event. He expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s been really great to see people connecting.” The fair provided a welcoming space for residents to meet and discover local resources.
The health fair not only featured vendors but also aimed to shed light on the diverse wellness options available in Marblehead. “There is no one-size-fits-all solution,” McMahon explained. “Our goal is to connect residents with local specialists who can meet their unique health needs.”
McMahon hopes this event will become a cherished annual gathering, reinforcing the importance of community health and wellness.
Overall, the fair was a hit. It offered valuable information and opportunities for residents to explore different wellness paths, strengthening the bonds within the Marblehead community.
