“Discover the Exciting New Climate Controls Coming to Android Auto: A Sneak Peek Gallery!”

Google is making strides to enhance the Android Auto experience by adding climate control features. Recently, a new update has provided a sneak peek into how this functionality will look.

Earlier, we spotted early versions of these controls in March, and Google has been refining them since then. Now, we’re getting more details about what to expect.

According to Android Authority, the beta version 14.3.151804 of Android Auto features climate controls at the bottom of the screen. This includes temperature adjustments, fan speed, defrost options, and controls for heated or ventilated seats. While the design is straightforward, it might feel cluttered on smaller screens since the controls are shown on both sides of the display.

When activated, icons for the Assistant, notifications, and app drawer shift to the center. Key indicators like time, battery life, and LTE connectivity appear at the top of the screen. Each button lights up upon selection, displaying the active setting, with fan speed shown as a number. A “sync” feature is also available for cars that allow independent climate settings for the driver and passenger.

This update is especially handy for cars that depend heavily on touchscreens for climate management—a growing trend in the automotive industry. Historically, many such vehicles set aside designated screen areas for climate controls, like those seen in Polestar models. However, it’s still unclear how Google plans to fully integrate these features into vehicles, as Android Auto has limited access to car systems as of now. More detailed announcements from Google will likely clarify this in the future.

As technology progresses, user feedback remains crucial. Recent surveys show that 68% of drivers prefer intuitive touchscreen controls over traditional knobs, indicating a strong interest in these new features. Would you find climate controls in Android Auto useful? Share your thoughts!
